Drawing Dog Portraits… It’s my JOB

Webcomic October 14, 2014

So, I was at this Dog Adoption event with Steve to help out his mom Sue find some of her rescued dogs a home along with another dog rescue. And well, I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily used to being around kids, but they definitely do say the darnedest things.

As soon as I started drawing dog portraits, they told me that they “had an idea”- which was also a face-palming moment for me because it seems that everyone “has an idea” for me. They said that I should draw the dogs for adoption and give their portraits away to whoever adopted them. Quite the little business people.

Then of course, what happened above in the comic strip was what happened next. I’m used to people watching me draw, and that doesn’t bother me. But this was certainly a first to listen to a little kid dictate every single thing I did while I was drawing dog portraits. After I told Steve & Sue about it, all I heard for the rest of the day was “It’s your JOB!” Too funny.
