DREAM’s Howl-O-Weenie 2014 was a great success! I met some wonderful dog lovers, saw the most adorable costumes on their dachshunds, AND I got to draw cute little doggies all day- BONUS!
I’ve been drawing cartoon illustrations for years, but this was my first time doing a show just for pet portraits. I’m so grateful to have had such a positive response to my pet portraits, so I’d like to thank everyone for their support. I had a blast, and people who rescue animals are just wonderful people, so I’m hoping to be able to do more events like this one in the future.
I took a few pictures of my “On the Spot” Doggie Doodles so I could share them with you guys.
This one features a trio of dachshunds, but the little guy in the middle was bundled up in his owner’s jacket, shivering like crazy. It was a very chilly and very windy day at the beginning, so a lot of the pups looked like they needed sweaters, pronto.
This little doggie was wearing a fluffy black and blue tulle collar with little bats on them. Juno must’ve been a chihuahua mix, she sure was a cutie!
And these two dachshund buddies both had the prettiest wavy hair on their ears. They looked like they were brothers, but definitely were good friends!
Next week, I’ll be posting my more detailed pet portraits that focus on capturing the dog’s personality and appearance. As you can see in the photo below, I have a whole bunch of them to share, so check back here to see them all!
By the way, if you stopped by my table and didn’t get a portrait, it’s not too late! Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to order one, and I can mail the finished portrait directly to you.
